This policy explains what personal data MEF collects from applicants, donors, volunteers and visitors, how we use it, and your rights. We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. This is a plain-language draft for review, not legal advice.
What we collect
From scholarship applicants: name, contact details, age, academic records, family income information and supporting documents. From donors, volunteers and partners: the details needed to process a gift, coordinate time, or scope a partnership.
How we use it
To assess applications, administer scholarships and programmes, acknowledge donations, and communicate with you. We do not sell personal data.
Consent for stories and photos
We never publish a scholar's name, words or photograph without their written consent, which can be withdrawn.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have rights to access, correction and erasure of your personal data, and to grievance redressal. To exercise them, contact us.
